How long have you owned your business & what motivated you to move into the entrepreneurial sector?

I’ve owned Fuel Talent since 2013. I have always had the entrepreneurial bug, but wanted to start a company once I was settled in the geography I would be in long term and also once I was done having babies and was able to focus 100 percent.

What ethos drives your business? What values are most important to you?

We live by the six core values that have been with us since the birth of Fuel. They guide me as a leader, our employees in their work and our company goals and mission. They are not just words on a page, but things we believe in and embody every day. Our values for our company include:

Drive: We are hungry badasses.

Integrity: We always do the right thing.

Efficiency: We are on it & we get sh*t done.

Respect: We treat others how we want to be treated.

Accountability: We take ownership and make no excuses.

Excellence: We exceed expectations in everything we do.

What advice would you give to your former self that could encourage our community today?

I would encourage my younger self to start a company sooner – it is so much fun to be an entrepreneur.

What's next for you? Campaigns of your own, projects, growth?

I’m going to continue fueling the company’s and employees’ growth. Growing year over year is something I’m so proud of and definitely want to keep up. I can’t wait to see where Fuel is in another five years!

I’ve also recently launched a new podcast called What Fuels You! I’ve spent the last several months interviewing incredible and talented leaders in the Seattle area. We’ve completed Season One and have begun releasing one new episode every Tuesday. I uncover things like personal hardships and failures, what it’s like to become an entrepreneur and tips on building a successful career. It’s been so fun to create and I’m excited to see where it goes.

What do you love about La Ree Boutique?

I’ve been shopping at La Ree for 10 years, from day one. I love fashion and am asked where I shop all the time--I send everyone to La Ree because they make you feel so welcome, they really know their stuff, the clothing is so well curated. My most treasured pieces are from La Ree.
